President Obama’s new Hip-pocket Congress is busy rewriting the plaque on the State of Liberty. “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning for hand-outs and subsidy checks!” Though not courageous enough to write in on the actual plaque or to even to publish in the press, the sentiment is found in the Democrat “Pork-ulous” Package currently bulldozing its way through the capital. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is angry; angry, not about the state of the national economy; angry, not about how much pork barrel spending their own people have included in the “Stimulus Package”; angry, not that we now have a Secretary of State whose husband has received 87% of his honoraria from foreign interests; angry, not that the new Secretary of the Treasury is incapable of paying his own taxes. They are angry that a private citizen would publicly speak out against President Obama. (more…)

The founding fathers designed our federal system of government to be a balancing act. Sovereignty was to rest in the people but it would be expressed through two venues, their individual states and the federal government. The framers of our constitution and the bodies that ratified it were very concerned that the federal government not be able to ride rough-shod over the states. To prevent this they gave the states a say in federal legislation through a Senate of representatives selected by the State Legislatures. (more…)

This morning as I got to my desk the news was reporting record high opinions of Obama and record lows for Bush. What did they expect? He has made no hard decisions, while people wait with baited breath for the new savior to step in and fix everything. In a society that looks to the federal government for answers is it any surprise that a change of leadership in Washington would produce such a love fest? (more…)

As I write this the United States is about to swear in our most historic president since Lincoln; Barack Hussein Obama is the first black president. Not too many years ago this would have been considered impossible. Until this last campaign the only serious black presidential candidate was Jesse Jackson, and anyone familiar with him knows the word serious is used in the narrowest sense. He may have been seriously considered but few could have voted for him with a straight face. Our current president is a different story. He managed to give people something to vote for, while John McCain floundered. In honor of this notable day I wanted to share the reasons I could never vote for Barack Obama. (more…)

Let the enemies of America rejoice—George W. Bush no longer resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Everyone is discussing the legacy of W. Bush II has been a mixed bag; while he deserves high praise for protecting us against our enemies, he deserves rebuke for his damage to the party of Reagan. (more…)

Barack Obama linked to a full-fledged socialist? Are these the rantings of some right-wing, Obama bashing extremist. Sorry Obama-girl, but it’s true. President-elect Barack Obama has chosen the socialist Carol Brown as Global Warming Czar. This indication of future direction should surprise no one considering Obama’s promises to the American people. (more…)

Class is in session. One small country surrounded by enemies is schooling the United States and the rest of the world on how to wage a War on Terror. Yes, the liberals will scream, the UN will demand a ceasefire, but unlike ours, the leaders of Israel understand they answer to their own people. (more…)

The hip pocket congress handed to our new President is to be as anti-business as ever. The leadership of the 111th Congress is intent on siphoning millions of dollars from business owners to benefit their trial lawyer constituency through discrimination lawsuits while silencing the voice of workers in union votes. Classic liberal tactic: enact legislation harming employees and stifling the economy while claiming to champion of the poor downtrodden worker crushed under the imaginary jackboot of business brown-shirts. Such polemics never result in good policy. (more…)
